Celebrating the Life of Dr. Khalid Badr Ali
Thoughts people have shared with us
It was my pleasure to work with Dr. Ali at Gunderson Clinic and Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien. I was a lab technician there. I always found him to be gentle, soft spoken , a fine doctor and a gentleman

I could not have asked for a better father in-law than Dr. Khalid. His kindness towards others, strong family values, and adventurous nature made it truly a blessing to becoming a part of his family. Dr. Khalid was always there to provide support and advice. It is a challenging time without him, but eventhough he is no longer with us, his powerful impact on my life and many others is everlasting. May he rest in peace and may Allah's blessings be upon him

He was a dear friend and will be missed not only on Fridays where we were always looking for to meet and chat and argue and debate each other but it was always high level discussion and intellectually enriching. He will be always missed and my condolances to his family for a huge loss of a good man. We will always miss you.

Dr. Ali was my care provider for several years in Prairie du Chien. I once was beaten by a man and he was willing to go to court to testify on my behalf regarding the injuries. He gave me confidence at a time when it was most needed. How nice to see his smiling face again, but so sad for the circumstances. My prayers for the family.

It was my honor and privilege to have Khalid as my practice partner at the Gundersen Prairie du Chien clinic for many years. He was the epitome of "patient-centeredness," always taking time to get to know patients and families, their needs and goals. Staff loved his gentle compassion and kindness. I learned so much from him!!

Dr. Ali came into my life when I was pregnant with my first child. I was very sick for unknown reasons and lost a great deal of weight. He never gave up on me and figured out that I needed my gallbladder out….. he took care of me and my first time husband. He seen me almost weekly until the day I delivered. Once he came to the hospital that morning… he never left me! I can still see him in my mind sitting with me. He delivered our first baby girl… healthy in the care of his hands! So patient! So understanding! I was also a nurse at was Prairie Memorial Hospital where I was blessed to see him almost daily. He was SO caring of All of his patients! One day I was asked to administer a medication that was to be given Intravenously and under ICU care… I brought this to the charge nurses attention and shared that I was uncomfortable administering this … he heard this conversation and the charge nurses response. He immediately stood up to my defense and stated he would give the medication!! He also delivered our son after a very long induction and took such great care of us, especially as I suffered postpartum depression afterwards. He remained my doctor through some really tough years. Our last little surprise was our daughter.. she was quite a surprise for everyone, including Dr. Ali. I had some complications after her birth where again he NEVER left my side.. I remember waking up from surgery and there he was holding me hand … ! Through the years we have grown apart however holiday cards flowed back and forth. It breaks my heart to hear he is no longer with us and his family. He especially talked of his children and how proud he was of them.. I bet a loving father too!! Anyone that was touched by his life has been blessed!! My sympathy to his family … please know he wad loved and always will be❤️

My deepest sympathy to your family - I was so very sorry to hear this. I worked at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital/Crossing Rivers as a CNA & really appreciated his humble, kind, "no drama"! nature. He was a truly wonderful Doctor & human being that brought so much goodness to the world.
